KING JAMES CONDITION ENCOURAGING. New York. June 9. — it is unlikely that the stone bruise developed by King James in the Brooklyn Handicap will prevent him from starting in the Suburban. Sam Hildreth has not asked the Plaudit colt to do any galloping since his brilliant race of last Thursday at Oravesend. but when he pulled King James plates off yesterday the injured foot looked good to him. There was no evidence of inflammation and little of soreness. Moreover, the horse walked around the exercise path surrounding his stable without limping. James R. Keenes Celt has not appeared in public for several days and it is feared that his absence may portend trouble.
