Is a good looker and certain to improve. Bob R. moved up gamely after entering the homestretch, but tired in the last sixteenth. Compton was in close quarters all the way. Sal Volatile, a rapid beginner, was rushed to -,ne front and. gamely holding a small lead, drew away from Bellwether on the far turn and had something left to stall off Joe Oaiteus. The latter, off forwardly. ran well and was favored by good racing luck throughout. Bellwether ran gamely, but tired in the last quarter and evidently needs freshening up. Security ran well and finished gamely. Firebug showed speed and was eased up at the end. The winner was entered for : no bid. L.-tined slcadily on the leaders In the last half and, finishing gamely under a drive, outstayed Commodore Fontaine at the end. The latter ran under restraint until Wild Refrain fell, then moved up with a rush, but tired at the end and was lame when he pulled up. Big Bear fenced well and showed much speed for he first mile. Colonel Zeb ran in closest pursuit of the winner and tired in the stretch. Arrow Swift closed a big gap. Debar ran poorly. The Karl and King Cole showed speed. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
