PROSPECTS FOR LEXINGTON MEETING. Lexington. Ky., August 21. Whether or not there will bo a fall meeting at the Kentucky Association track probably will not be officially announced by the directors of the association until after the decision of the Court of Appeals in the Latonia Jockey Club State Racing Commission ease, which is expected shortly after September 2. the date for oral arguments. There is a strong sentiment here for a fall meeting and the ollicers of the association are being importuned by breeders, owners, trainers and others to announce a program for at least seven days, to include the week following the close of the New Loulsvile Jockey Clubs meeting of thirteen days in October and preceding the Latonia meeting. Whether tills arrangement will materialize depends largely on the decision of the Court of Appeals. Local financial conditions are decidedly better than at this time last year and it is not likely that a stringency in the money market will exist here, as it ilid last fall, to the detriment of that memorable meeting. In 190S tjiere was no tobacco crop and such little demand for horses that money was tighter than it had been in half a century in these parts. On top of this came a severe drought that kept hundreds of people busy hauling water for stock and grain who might have otherwise witnessed some of the racing. This year a large tobacco crop Is being grown: other crops have produced abundant yields, the breeders of thoroughbreds and trotters alike have received fair values for Hieir products and there is an abundance of water. The Blue Grass Fair, which was held last week, stands as an illustration of the improvement In conditions. It was the most successful fair in the history of. the association.
