NOTES OF THE TURF. Bigot and Bobbin Around are considered good steeplechasing prospects. Joe ,Ryan, who rode John Coyles jumper. 0. K.. in the steeplechase at Saratoga Thursday, was educated for the priesthood. Trainer Craven, the developer of Sir Wooster, lie-lieves that that good jumper will win the Champion Steeplechase, at 3 1-2 miles, at Belmont Park In October. A. H. Higginson paid ,000 for Ballacalla. the jumper .which he recently purchased from Colonel Robert Neville. The Neville stable has been reduced to four green four-year-olds. Expansionist was bleeding at the nose at the finish of the steeplechase which he won at Saratoga Thursday. He probably burst a small blood vessel in the nasal membrane at the last fence. James E. Gaffney will not go Into the yearling market at present. He feels that his experience with racing has been too limited to warrant his dabbling with other than ready-made racers.
