Superintendent Dave Peel of the St. James Stud, the Wlieatcroft establishment, was here from Spring Station Wednesday to make arrangements for two of the largest shipping cars In which to transport the thirty-six yearlings. Mr. Wlieatcroft Is coming here to personally direct the shipment of the yearlings and to inspect his mares and foals. He has never seen the foals. His last visit to Kentucky was in January. Mr. Wheat-crofts lease at Woodburn Farm will expire November 1. and rumor has it that it is his Intention to move the stud to a farm nearer Lexington. Superintendent Peel, however, says he lias no information as to Mr. Wlieatcrofts intentions in this direction. The yearlings Sanford C. Lvno will send east are for the greater part not of his own breeding. He liougth extensively of the weanlings that, were offered at the McGrathiana dispersal and other sales last fall, and has had the satisfaction of seeing Ills purchases grow Into some or the handsomest yearlings in this section. He nought them In the belief that there would be a good market for them In 1909. and It looks verv much as If his judgment is to be sustained with a handsome profit on the money he put into the venture.
