MEDIANT WINS SPRINT HANDICAP. London. August 21. II. B. Duryeas Mediant followed up her Stewards Cup success at Goodwood by winning the Champion Sprint Handicap of 500 sovereigns, for three-year-olds and upward, distance five furlongs, at Hurst Park today. August Belmonts Priscillian was among the unplaced starters. Gal-leot Was second and Prospector third. Mediant carried 123 pounds. Priscilllans impost was 135. Galleot was the light weight of the race, with 98. and Prospector had up 123. The two-year-old selling plate of 200 sovereigns, distance live furlongs, was won by Magneto. Winged Fancy was second and Woodland Maid third. II. B. Duryeas Armor! was among the eighteen starters. The maiden two-year-old plate of 103 sovereigns, distance five furlongs, was won by II. P. Whitneys Haiidspun filly. The Tathwell Lassie colt was second and Amadeus third. Eleven started.
