SLOAN MAY GET HIS LICENSE. London, Eng.. August 21. Although the proceedings before the committee of the Belgian Jockey Club, which held a special meeting at Ostend recently to decide whether a license to ride should be given to Tod .Sloan, took the form of merely passing to the order of the day without discussion. It is said on good authority that the English Jockey Club replied to the effect that they saw no objection to Sloan riding in a foreign country. An intimation was, however, received from the Societe d Encouragement in France that, before they expressed any definite opinion, they would prefer to lie assured that he had obtained the offer of a yearly engagement from a known and established stable. His Iriends are of the opinion that this can be arranged, and in that case his return to the turf will be now only a matter of time.
