Won driving; second and third the same. Dreamer, from a nying start, luckily and forwardly placed and well served by the stiff pace, wore the leaders down in a long closing drive. Sir Jobn Johnson outbroke and outpaced the others, but succumbed in the last stride after excessive urging. Besom met early interference, but joined, the pacemakers on the inside, was finally crowded out and came on the outside on the: stretch turn and seemed like, winning, but was crowded in between the leaders and succumbed finally. Be Mund broke poorly, but quickly ran into prominence and held on persistently throughout. Prince Ahmed, away flatfooted and nearly left, closed an Immense gap and made a fast finish. Mary Bavis was well up and persistent throughout, but never actually dangerous; Guy Fisher, from a bad start, steadily improved his position and was going fast at the end. WIntergreen also suffered at the start, but was badly outpaced and is not ready. Waterway, sent along from the start, maintained striking distance pursuit at a terrific pace and wore the leaders down finally and decisively. Thlstledale drew out immediately and made the running by a wide gap for a mile and a half, then began to tire and succumbed in the final drive of a high-class race. Grandpa ran prominently for half of the journey, then tired into an easing up third. Ballacalla ran in nearest and strenuous pursuit for the first mile and quit badly. Grasmere drew out in the first stride and won all the way. was hard held for the first half, but finished tiring badly and being slqwly worn down by Fauntleroy. The latter, from a flying start, got into instant nearest pursuit of the pacemaker and was gradually gaining through the last three furlongs, but could not qiiite get up and was disqualified for a foul. Waldo, from an Inside slow start In close quarters, was crowded and forced to pull up, th6n made up considerable ground. Shannon, a distant third in the early running, crowded the favorite closely and suffered himself when Chickasaw ranged alongside and bumped them on the outside, then held on persistently afterward into a respectable fourth. Chickasaw, pulling, up on the inside and nearly left, closed up rapidly and lapped the trailers and fouled them iu the first quarter, then retired on the far turn. Scratched 84104 Pretend. 117; 8407! Wisp Mason drew out on the first turn, crossing in front sharply, then held sway unextended to the end end is in grand form. Olambala, crowded by the leader and forced to pull up and take to the outside, lost several lengths, but steadily improved his position and wore Bouquet down finally for second place. Bouquet, also seriously hamiiered on the first turn and thrown against Berkeley, got into forward attendance on the inside on the backstreteh and loomed up well on the last turn, but tired and quit badly in the closing, drive. Great Heavens broke slowly and was interfered with early, trailed for balf of the journey and closed a big gap in the middle running and fired in the stretch. Berkeley, nearly put over the fence on the first turn and virtually eliminated as a contender, closed a big gap in the last half. Live Wire, jammed on the turns, recovered quickly and ran in nearest pursuit in the middle running, but failed to stay. Pretty Michal made the running by a wide gap and was under a pull for a mile and a half, out tired finally from being excessively urged and was best. Fincastle maintained hailing distance pursuit ot the leaders for the first mile, then tired. O. K. trailed hopelessly for half of the journey and gained a ilitle in the last half in a poor race. Seams moved up Into quick hailing distance pursuit of the pacemaker and was reserved patiently to the slretch, then wore them, down filially and was lucky. German Silver set the pace to the last couple of strides, but was excessively used iu establishing a big lead and was unlucky to lose. Judge Lassing was urged into strenuous contention for the lead in the inside early running and succumbed finally. Madeline L., away poorly and outpaced, held forth in the rear and closed a big gap in the last half. Bob R.. well up but distanced at all stages by the three leaders, was a persistent fifth. Sallau, badly outpaced and tiailing for five furlongs, made up considerable ground, in the stretch. Captain Swanson made up ground in the middle quarter, but failed to stay finally. Diction and Zephyr showed brief speed. The winner was entered for KM: po bid. Quantieo ran into a quick early lead and was displaced in the middle running, then came on Into the lead in the" stretch, but readily succumbed to Rio Grande at -the e.id. Edwin L. steadily Improved his position on the outside into a fast going third and is good. Hans, shuttled back and outpaced for six furlongs, closed a big gap in the stretch. Killiecranklo was well up and tiersistent throughout. Spooner. away poorly, established a quick lead and held sway by a wide gap to the stretch, but quit badly in the last furlong. The Wrestler, short, ran prominently for six furlongs and retired. Norfolk showed superior early speed, but failed to stay. Campaigner ran prominently for half of the journey and dropped out.
