WESTERN CANADA FUTURITY. Winnipeg, .Man., August 21. To encourage the breeding of thoroughbreds in western Canada, the directors of the Winnipeg Exhibition have decided to offer to the running horses a stake of guaranteed value of ,000, to be raced for in 1912 by foals of. 1909. Following are the rules and conditions of entry for what will be called the Centennial Futurity for Running Horses: For foals of 1909 Open only to foals owned and foaled In Canada, west of the Great Lakes, raced and trained in the above territory. One and one-sixteenth miles. Guaranteed value ,000. Maidens allowed 5 pounds; winners of 00 or over. 5 pounds extra. JO be raced for in 1912 over the course of the Winnipeg Industrial Exhibition or any track named by them, and Will be governed by the prevailing rules of the track over which the races are to be contested. Each nominator may name and race as many horses as he desires. Entries close October 1. 1909: pavable at time of entry, when a description of the foal must be given, giving the sex, color and markings, sire and dam; 0 additional September 1. 1910; September 1, 1911, a payment of 0. when the name of the foal must be given. The day previous to the race in 1912. a starting fee of 5 must be paid. All monies received over and aliove the guaranteed fruount will be added to the stake. The stake will be divided: CO per cent.. 25 per wilt, and 15 per cent.
