Manzauo, showing sudden improvement, dashed Into the lead soon after the, start and. fencing well, held sway for the first ten jumps, then tired and had to be hard ridden to outstay John Dillon. The latter ran fairly well. Class Leader made a bad landing at the seventh jump. Bonnie Kate liolted after going over the fourth Jump and pulled up lame. Eye White outpaced his opposition decisively from the start and came away fast in tlie stretch. Penn, hard lidden for the entire trip, hung on gamely and got up for second place in the last stride. Tourenne began slowly, but closed a big gap after going a half and held on gamely In the stretch. Gretna Green was taken wide most of the way and lost enough ground o cost him second place. Green Seal was in close pursuit of Centre Shot for three-quarters, then tired fast. Centre Shot showed the most early speed, but quit badly after going three-quarters. Scratched S4250 Lawrence P. Tom Hayward was kept under restraint for a half and finished faster than the leaders, nasty Agnes ran a good race. St. Jeanne and Woodlane showed speed, but tired after going a half. Azo, after trailing distantly for the first three-quarters, moved up with a rush in the next quarter1 and, after taking the lead, easily held the race safe. Doubt, restrained for the first mile aud a half, outstayed Oberon in the final drive. Oberon went well in the- lead for a mile and a half before tiring. Colonel Zeb had no mishaps.
