Reports are in circulation that a meeting of five weeks duration, beginning about December 1, is being planned for Santa Anita Park this winter in the event that the California courts uphold the provisions of the Walker-Otis law prohibiting bookmaklng. It is thought that a meeting of this limited duration mav be made self-sustaining under the oral system of betting, as in the east.
