Alan-, arka, from a flying inside start, led by a good gap to midway of the stretch, but finished tiring and scored a lucky win. Campeon, away slowly, ran into quick forward pursuit of the pacemaker, but was crowded out repeatedly and impeded in the stretch and just failed to get up in a fast closing challenge. Royal Captive soon ran into forward contention, but weaved in and out in the stretch and tired in the closing drive. Chief Hayes steadily improved his position into a fast going and close up fourth. Earls Court ran In nearest pursuit for live furlongs and quit badly. Rubia Granda, away very badly, closed a big gap and is extra good. Dr. Waldo Briggs made up much ground from an Indifferent start, as also did Cotytto. Spooner had scant chance at the start. The winner was entered for 00; 110. bid. Bigot was indulged with a brief-early lead and maintained close and persistent pursuit of the winner after being headed when a mile ahd a. quarter from the finish. Essex II. trailed, but within hailing distance, and loomed up well, but blundered at the Liverpool when beginning the last seven furlongs and was virtually eliminated. Shannon, ran in forward and persistent pursuit thioughout aud finished wearing the leader down. Faiintleroy, close up throughout, finished fastest of all and is in rare form. Livonia raced with the favorite for three furlongs, then tired badly in the stretch. but held on well. Chickasaw showed brief early speed and ran as If short. Sir John Johnson acted badly at the post and delayed the start, but finally went away tlying and won all the way and is fresh and good. Rose Queen broke slowly and was reserved patiently in behind the leader to the stretch, but could never get up in a persistent stretch challenge and was a lucky second. JaQk Atkln, from a fair start, was rushed through on the inside in close quarters and was pocketed and shut off recatedly and when lie gained a clear course in the stretcli closed a big gap. Kings Daughter broke well and maintained a forward position from the start and finished fastest of all. Harrigan, off poorly, was outpaced from the start, but finished moderately well and the same applies to Half Sovereign. Besom was, liatfooted at the start and seemingly anchored by his weight. Lnd of Langden was pinned in next to the rail in the middle running and lost much ground and time in trying to gSt through, was finally forced to pull up and come around and got up in the last stride of a fast stretcli challenge. Queen Marguerite made the running under a pull for the first mile, then Creevy nulled his whip and the mare flinched and was unlucky to have lost. St. Joseph ran In nearest pursuit under a pull for a mile and tired in the closing drive, is still short, but is extra good. Gild was outpaced, but within hailing distance. In the early running and finished well. Norhitt, under pressure throughout and outpaced to the stretch, closed up at the end, but was never dangerous and was overweighted. Is a good looker and promising. Hamilton Court broke slowly, lacked speed and was never dangerous. Boca Grande held forth lu the rear all the way, seemingly going well within himself.
