Slovens has decided to dispose of his Walnilt Hill Fannin this county and if he finds a buyer ht his price, he will disperse his stud of thoroughbreds and ge to California to make his permanent home. Mr. Stevens has not been able to spend his winters iii this section for some years. He spent the last three winters in California and finds that his general health in that climate is -good. Should he dispose of the farm within the next eight weeks he will catalogue all his horses for the annual winter sale of the Fasig-Tipton Company in this city during tin? first week -of December. If the farm is not sold within that time the establishment will continue hi charge of Fletcher Driver. In the event of the dispersal of the Walnut Hill Stud, Mr. Driver will buy a farm for. himself. ios-siblv in the Tennessee blue grass country surrounding; Nashville, somewhere in the vicinity of Gallatin or Columbia. Mr. Driver has a few horses of his own and he will continue as a breeder. He now has in training at the farm track three yearlings, two of which arc regarded as exceptionally good prospects. One is a chestnut filly half-sister to FloreaU.. by Goldcrest. out of Anyday. a sister to Caiman. This filly has already shown a quarter in 23s seconds. A chestnut colt by St. Blaise or Goldcrest. out of Ohio, by Wadsworth. has worked a quarter in 21 seconds. The third is a bay filly by Wadsworth. out of Llna G.. by Orsini. This one has shown am ei"hth in twelve seconds and Mr. Driver considers, her tho best Wadsworth that was ever bred. It is his intention to turn, these youngsters over to some good trainer next year and race, them in his own interest. The yearlings belonging to Mr. Stevens have not been broken since they are to be sold as untried. They have merely been made bridlewise.
