FAIR LATONIA DAILY TURF GOSSIP AT NOTED KENTUCKY TRACK LATONIA, Ky., June 6. John T. Ireland, who officiated at the Maple Heights meeting as one of the stewards, was among the visitors. He has been appointed as the presiding official at the Winnipeg meeting, beginning its racing on June 14. Trainer Robert Gilmore stated Friday that In Memoriam was coming along fine in his training and he would, in all probability, begin his racing for this year some time during the present meeting. G. Senff, member of the Kentucky Racing Commission, came from his home to witness the next two days racing. Secretary Sherwood of the Kentucky State Racing Association was among the visitors this afternoon. He stated that the members of the commission would hold a meeing some time during the Latonia racing, possibly the day before the derby is run, to pass upon such business as may come before them and that possibly will include allotment of fall dates for the Kentucky courses. Thomas B. Cromwell, secretary of the Raceland track at Ashland, Ky., where a meeting of twenty-one days duration will be held beginning July 10, was among the visitors. He stated that everything was in complete readiness for the opening cf the newest Kentucky track and spoke optimistically of the plans for a successful race meet-nig. Joseph A. Murphy, general manager of the Hawthorne, Chicago, track, where racing will begin July 3, departed tonight for Chicago. He expressed his satisfaction with results of his mission here. The latest entries to the Chicago Derby received by him were those of Chilhowee and King Tut, owned by the Gallaher Brothers.
