EPSOM OAKS TO STRAITLACE Turns Tables on One Thousand Guineas Winner Plack and Triumphs Over Her in Fine Race. SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. EPSOM DOWNS, Eng., June 6.— Sir Edward Hultons Straitlace, daughter of Son-In-Law and Stolen Kiss, turned the tables on Lord Roseberys Plack, winner of the One Thousand Guineas, in the running of the Epsom Oaks here this afternoon. Mrs. Sofer Whitburns Mink was third. The weather was clear and pleasant but heavy rains of the last few days had left the turf heavy and sodden. The crowd was not above the average. King Georve V. and his family occupied the royal box. ONeill had the mount on the Hulton filly and he rode a brilliant race. He sent Straitlace into the lead going down hill and kept her going to win under mild urging by a length and a half in the face of Placks game challenge. Mink was only beaten a head for second place. The race was run in 2:47.
