« . JAMAICA TURF NOTES * — _ . _ + NEW YORK. N. Y.. April 28. O. Iaidley, who has been riding recently at Jamaica, is the lad who was highly praised for his saddle work at Tijuana last winter. The latest addition to the riding staff of James Fitzsimmons stable is Herman Asch-konazy. who was special messenger for the press stand for several years at the New York tracks. The lad doffed his messengers uniform nine weeks ago and has since made consderable progress. He rides at .*:! pounds. Jack Dunn, the vetern Western Union man, will handle his riding engagements after he is permitted to accept mounts. The lad has many friends among newspaper writers. Matty Glennan, well known as a handi-capper, yesterday made his first appearance of the season at the Jamaica track. R. Pierce was suspended after the first race for five days by Starter Cassidy on account of disobedience at the barirer. James Butler was a clubhouse visitor yesterday at Jamaica. J. Morri, well known to racing men, and interested in a string of horses, made his first appearance of the year. He left Miami and entered a Baltimore hospital for an operation. Fred Burlew, who trained Mor-vich and other turf stars, was operated on last night at Mount Sinai Hospital and is in satisfactory condition today. Benny Silverman visited him this morning anil reports that a prompt recovery was regarded as probable. Three of the six winners yesterday at Jamaica were among the campaigners at Miama last winter.
