At Aurora One Best Bet — SX7BESH0T — In the Sixth Race. Rain failed to make its usual daily appearance at Aurora yesterday and. as a consequence, the going is now nearing its best condition. But a few days more of pleasant weather and it will be as fast as could be desired. With the footing becoming more firm, it is noticeable that the better grade of horses are registering. Those which scored in the first few days of the meeting and which scored so easily a»e now among the trailers at the finish, as a rule. Kaeh of the seven races carded today will see fields of goodly numbers making the issue. The final race has but seven entered, it being the smallest field of the day, while from ten to seventeen are entered in the other six races. Two allowance affairs are the best races offered for Friday, the fifth engaging two-year-olds to race over the half-mile distance, while the sixth calls for three-year-olds to contest over the five and a half furlongs. Some good ones are to be seen in action in each of these races and an interesting contest should be the result in each case. REDSKIN— BRAKDALBANE-FLOY LILLIE. The initial event is a five and a half furlongs sprint and it seems to be more or less of an open race with REDSKIN, BRAKDALBANE and FLOY LILLIE getting the call in the order named. The former is bound to show to better advantage with a firmer track for todays racing. He was handicapped by the heavy going in his last start, but should give a good account of himself here. BRAEDALBANE is speedy when fit and it may be that he didnt relish the going in his last out. FLOY LILLIE was consistent at Havana last winter and. if she has retained that same form, will be a strong contender. J. G. BICKEL is apt to prove troublesome. HIDDEN JEWEL— CHARLES WHITNEY-GREEK FRIAR. Another five and a half furlongs affair is down for decision as the second with a limit field likely to face the barrier. HIDDEN JEWEL was plainly hampered by the going in his last start, but should give a much better account of himself in this number. He holds the inside post position and is usually a fast starter. If he gets away in the first flight we do not think they will be able to catch him. CHARLES WHITNEY is another that Is expected to do better today. He is a speedy trick and may cause HIDDEN JEWEL some trouble. GREEK FRIAR seems to be on the improve and may prove a surprise. BOYS BELIEVE ME is far from his former self. Sir Lawnfal raced in improved style his last out. LA BELLE— JIM BETHEL— NEPTUNE. LA BELLE was the winner of her two last races at Tijuana before being shipped here and, if she has retained that same form, will be a hard one to beat. JIM BETHEL put up a good effort his last start and would need to improve but a little over that performance to share in the purse money today. NEPTUNE raced as if he was not far from a winning trip in his last appearance and may cause an upset In this company. GEO. DEVER rates an outside chance. JOE MARRONE II. may need a race or two to fit him. for his best. BRONX— MYRTLE BELLE— ROCKING. The fourth is at three-quarters and. if BRONX has retained his best Tijuana form, he may be the one to score. He was more or less successful at the border course and only has to display the same brand of racing here to cop. MYRTLE BELLE should show to much better advantage today with an improved track the t rder. ROCKING has placed in her last two starts and seems to be about ready for a winning efTort. Sh« would not surprise by scoring in this raceu HUEY prefers a longer distance. SENOR is far down on the also eligible list and may not get to the post. Should he start, he is liable to prove troublesome. HANDS UP likes a longer route. HAYESS CHOICE— ROCKER— INDRA. In the two-year-old test. HAYESS CHOICE seems to be much the best play. He was entered Thursday, but was scratched, and this looks like a good spot for him to add another purse to his credit. He raced like a good one in his only start here to date and it may be that he is a little better than rated. ROCKER was ais- winner of her last start, but she is not looked for to beat HAYESS CHOICE if he displays the same brand of racing he did in his last race. INDRA may have needed her last race, as she seemed to tire after assuming the lead in the stretch. I.«ook for her to do better today. PERFECT MODEL has yet to win a race, but is said to be a good one. SURESHOT— BLACK ON WHITE — JIONTELIO. The sixth should see SURESHOT getting home the easiest winner of the day. He was able to defeat a much better band than he meets today in one of his races at Jefferson Park and he would only have to duplicate that race to score with ease. BLACK ON WHITE was a consistent colt while racing for the Idle Hour Farm Stable, but has not done so well since being placed in new hands. However, he should have benefited from his long rest, as he was much used in a racing way at New Orleans, and may run one of his good races today. He is a Kentucky Derby eligible. MONTKLLO figures to hold the others safe for third. CHAFF may prove dange_ous. BILLY BAUGHN is far from his best form. MARENGO — CHIEF TIERNEY— SWOOP. The concluding number brings to the post an evenly matched band of platers to try conclusions over the mile and a sixteenth distance with most any cne of the seven entered holding an equal chance. MARENGO seems to be on the improve and is seected to show the way home to the others. CHIEF TIERNEY is always dangerous in this sort of company and will take plenty of beating. SWOOP is capable of taking down the show if he races in his best form. ENGADINE figures clcse up. PAPA BLINKS must not be totally ignored.
