LATONIA TURF NOTES t • 4 LATONIA, Ky.. June 8. Jockey Tommy Root was indisposed this morning and, while he was forced to forego his morning duties, improvement later in the day permitted him to fill his riding engagements. The second issue of conditions for the racing at Latonia from June 14 to June 21 was distributed this morning. The running of the Clipsetta Stakes, for two-year-old fillies, here tomorrow, will mark the first time of the Kentucky season that juveniles have been asked to negotiate the five and a half furlongs distance. R. S. Clarks Current galloped three-eighths in :39% over a heavy track this morning as her final preparation for the Clipsetta Stakes. Gallaher and Co ibs Polly Burnside, another starter for that stake, was sent over the same distance in :39% handily, and several other additional hopefuls galloped in slower time. Silene, a filly owned by W. Hatohett, has gone amiss and has been retired from training. Jockey PI. Richards will depart Saturday night for Arlington Park, where he will join the division of the H. P. Headley stable which W. W. Taylor has in training there. The Audley Farm Stables Kentucky Oaks winner Easter Stockings has been nominated for the renewal of the Raceland Derby, which will feature the coming meting at that Kentucky track. The stewards this morning passed favorably upon the applications of jockey A. Anderson and trainer J. R. Schuster. Jockey Anderson just recently was restored to good standing by the stewards of the Louisiana Jockey Club. He is with the stable of H. Massey. Lord Marmion and Goldiva were excused from starting in the fifth race by the stewards shortly before racing time. Jockey EL Meyers could not get within the weight limit on Busy Flight in the opening race and R. Zucchini obtained the mount. Earl Pool has been forced to decline the American Derby mount on Galahad as the R. S. Clark stable, which has him und engagement, will have starters in the Clipsetta Stakes and the Quickstep Handicap, to be run here Saturday. . _ 4 , , _
