SPORTING BLURB, best in the going, wis outpaced and in close quarters to the stretch, then cl.i-ed a gap and, racing into the lead, outfinished HAMCA. The latter was hard ridden and, gaining steulily, came fast on the outside in the last eighth and was gaining on the winner. EPONYMOUS showed early speed and raced into the lead in the first half mile, but tired. BLESS HER HEART was o:i tr inside and could not get through in time to reach the leaders. CLOUDY S. closed a big gap. CLEANSER showed early speed. SUNOLIN quit badly. The latter gained slowly and made up ground in the stretch.
