REPORTS FOALS BY QUAKE Andy Williams, of Blackwell, Okla., recently reported a chestnut colt by Quake, from the Golden Maxim mare Old Proverb. This mare was Virginia-bred at the farm of H. T. Oxnard. She was raced as a two- and three-year-old by McBrayer Moore and did not appear again for several years, when she came out in the colors of Henry Pappan, an Indian and cousin to Vice-President Curtis, from whom Mr. Williams acquired her. She is but four removes from the renowned Queen Mary, which produced Balrownie, Bonnie Scotland, Blinkbonny, etc. Quake is practically unknown. He was foaled in 1921. but never raced. By Martinet, he is from Incitation, by Hilarious and traces back tail-female through mares by Glenelg, Australian, Lexington, Glencoe, to Minerva Anderson, an American family, which has done well. Mr. Williams also has the chestnut mare Ilalesia, by Martinet — Mai Lowery, which is heavy in foal to Quake and the chestnut mare Ella Beach, by Hilarious — Oxalia, also in foal to this young sire. Both of these mares were bred by Mr. Williams.
