POSTERITY IS WINNER SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. NEWMARKET, England, May 16.— Posterity, a three-year-old colt by Son In Law — Hemlock, carried the colors of Mrs. C. Glorney to victory in the Payne Stakes, at a mile and a half, here today. Sir Phillips The Niche finished second in the field of ten, while third was the portion of Periaster, racing for Lord Allendale. The race was worth ,500 to the winning owner. The Bedford Two-Year-Old Stakes, contested at five-eighths, went to Lieut. -Col. James Carruthers Aspiration, which scored over five rivals. Cynosure, under the silks of Anthony de Rothschild, took the place from G. D. Smiths Crock of Gold.
