RACE ATTRACTS EASTERNERS 0,000 Arlington Stake Race Considered Prize Worth Winning by Seaboard Owners. Nominations to the 0,000 American Classic, and the ten other valuable stakes that are to be decided at Arlington Park during the summer meeting, which closed at midnight Saturday, continue to pour into the offices of the American National Jockey Club in this city from various places. The volume and quality of these entries is the source of much satisfaction to president Otto W. Lehmann, and the other officers of the club. They are particularly impressed by the manner in which the eastern stables have responded, for practically every stable of prominence in the East is to be found among the nominators. Racing secretary Joseph McLennan, who has been in New York for some time in the interest of the stakes, reports that he has met with gratifying success in his mission. Among the stables from which he has secured liberal entries are the following : Audley Farm, Belle Isle Stable, Fair Stable, Martin Finn, Chas. Graffaginini, Jacques Stable, Steve Judge, Keeneland Stud, Jefferson Livingston, Arden Farms, Robert L . Gerry, Marshall Field, Henrique Gutierrez, Yvheatley Stable, Glen Riddle Stable, Harry Payne Whitney, Warm Stable, Rancocas Stable, Samuel Ross, Robert A. Smith, Geo. M. Sidenberg, J. L. Johnson, K. F. Sanford, George D. Widener, Joseph E. Widener, G. A. Cochran, C. H. Pierce, Rosedale Stable, B. S. Culler, Dorwood Stable, and W. R. Coe. Mr. McLennan was instrumental in securing the pick of the Eastern three-year-olds for the Classic. These include Jack High, High Strung, Dr. Freeland, Voltear, Soul of Honor, Upset Lad, Minotaur, Neddie, Chic-atie, Essare, Jean Valjean, Mei Foo, Leucite, Houssain, Expedite, Grey Coat, Calwick, Chatford, Xylophone, Perkins, Curate, Marine, Indigo, The Nut, Cady Hill, Bargello and Beacon Hill. The Classic should be the most important three-year-old stake of the year, for it will bring into competition not only all of the star juveniles of last year, and the three-year-old developments of this year, but it will bring together a number of the stars that will not have been entered or competed in the important fixtures for three-year-olds, all of which will be turf history prior to the day of its running, July 13,
