LILLIAN TOBIN raced wide while sprinting into the lead in the first quarter, then withstood challenges from HELEN KING after reaching the stretch and increased her advantage slightly in the final eighth. HELEN KING, close up from the start, moved up fast after entering the stretch and finished ganxly, but could not head the winner. MINAH LOUISE saved ground on the stretch turn and finished gamely. MABEL BASIL ran fairly well. SKY HIGH had no mishaps. TRULY MOVIN began slowly. BANNER BRIGHT was badly outrun. ZADORA MAY showed early speed, but swerved and tired. PATUXANT was saved in the early running and took a short lead after reaching the stretch, then finished gamely and barely failed to win. STARS AND STRIPES showed the most early speed and saved ground, but tired in the final sixteenth. ONUP had no mishaps. INDIANAPOLIS tired. BONNY BASIL showed brief early speed. MISS PEGGY moved up fast on the last turn, but swerved and bumped ALINE BENSINiiEK after reaching the stretch, then finished gamely. SURCEASE saved much ground on the stretch turn and outfiuished ALINE BENSINGER. The latter began fast, but was tiring when she suffered from interference in the stretch. CALCITE raced wide.
