LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 20.— McAtee said after the running of the Kentucky Derby that he struck four times with the whip in the race and there never was a time Clyde Van Dusen did not respond. "He is a good, game horse, not much bigger than a pony," is the way he rated him. This was the second victory in the Derby for McAtee, for he piloted Whiskery to his score. Mack Garner said that it was evident Blue Larkspur could not run in the mud and that at the end of the first quarter he knew be was beaten. C. E. Allen, rider of Naishapur. said that if the track had been fast his mount would surely have won. He said the colt was belter now than he was in the Coffroth Handicap. Coltiletti, who saved third with Panchio, said his mount ran a ~ood race all the way. Robertson had a bit of misfortune at the start, when he was caught in the barrier with The Nut and had rather a nasty cut on nis neck as a result. *
