# A ROSE OF SHARON AND CURRENT AT HOMEWOOD i HOMEWOOD, 111., June 20.— Rose of Sharon, Lady Broadcast and Current, Illinois Oaks candidates, were arrivals at Washington Park during the morning. The arrival of Rose of Sharon attracted attention almost to the exclusion of Lady Broadcast and Current. Roseoe Goose await-1 Rose of Sharon and directed her trip to his barn. Goose is rather enthusiastic about Rose of Sharon : "I think Rose of Sharon is remarkable in many ways," said her, "apart from being almost the size of a stallion she is sensible and never nervous. Her Latonia trial for her race Saturday emphasizes her class. There is no question about this filly having attained top form. She will give a fine exhibition. Some of the others are capable of racing fast. I am giving Lady Broadcast and Current credit. They are splendid types. The Illinois Oaks may prove one oi the unusual races of the year. In point of class it will be a better race than the American Derby." Robert Gilmore, who brought Lady Broadcast, said Mr. Caldwells filly is ready and will run a good race. Her brilliant argument against Rose of Sharon in the Kentucky Oaks established her merit, he said. The slashing, stalwart-sized and swift running daughter of Light Brigade, which races pro tern under the colors of her trainer, D. E. Stewart, is on the scene in quest of additional honors. She will be the favorite in the renewal Saturday of the Oaks, a feature of 0,000 added money, the distance b-ing a mile and an eighth, for three-year-olds. Sixty-two were nominated. It is expected that twelve will be sent postward in this, one of the most pretentious races of the year for fillies. W. F. Scheids My Sis, which has been trained at Arlington Park, is a probable starter. This is the filly that defeated Jock in the Hartford Handicap in Maryland.
