The horse is improving, but was not asked for a speedy exhibition jn this. move. Trainer Charles N. Lewis showed the big crowd of work watchers a brisk move with JDinwiddie Lamptons Sam Wooldridge, an eligible for the Derby, which went five fur-iongs in company with E. J. .Lehmanns Suitor in 1:07. Will Culbertson, local sportsman, who owned a stable of horses some few years back, is in receipt of a letter from Gerald jCudahy, a member of the wealthy meat packing family, of that name, requesting him to secure him accommodations at the Brown Hotel for the Derby. Mr. Cudahy lives at Brownwood, Texas, and will arrive in Louisville Friday preceding the running of the terby. He raced a number of horses some years back, with Cupbearer the star of his string. John B. Partridge, trainer of High Foot and other horses in the Valley Lake Stable, motored to Lexington today to superintend fche shipping of the five head of two-year-olds that "Dore" Pierce has been training for him at the Kentucky Association course, to Louisville. Jack P. Chinn, of Leonatus Farm, reports the foaling last night of his mare, Sealing Wax, which foaled a chestnut colt, by the Preakness winner Pillory. Sealing Wax is by .Trap Rock, from Honey Bee. Jockey D. Froggatte, who rode at the Florida tracks this winter, was among the .visitors at the Downs as well as jockey Jake Heupel, who motored over from Lexington.
