-Z P0LYD0R THE TOP WEIGHT Assigned 128 Pounds for Paumonok Handicap, Opening Day-Feature at Jamaica. NEW YORK, N. T., April 10. W. S. Vos-burgh, handicapper for The Jockey Club, today announced the weights for the Paumonok Handicap, the ,000 stake at six furlongs, for three-year-olds and upward, which will be renewed April 21 at Jamaica. This fixture annually features the opening of the spring meeting of the Metropolitan Jockey Club. Heading the list of forty-five candidates is the 1928 winner, William Zieglers five-year-old Polydor, with 128 pounds. He was the most dangerous rival of Joseph E. Wide-ners Osmand, champion sprinter last year. Osmand was not nominated for the Paumonok. Polydors weight is four pounds under the scale. High Strung and Distraction are handicapped at 123 pounds each. High Strung, a four-year-old, has seven pounds off the scale, while Distraction, a five-year-old, has nine pounds off. Nusakan is in with 122 pounds and Mowlee with 119 pounds. The Paumonok has been a Metropolitan stake fixture since 190G. Last year it was won by Mei Foo. Following are the weights: Ilorse. Wt. Horse.
