; ; ; ILLINOIS TURF MEETING License Committee Passes on Applications for Trainer and Jockey Licenses for 1930. Judge Charles F. Price, Martin Nathanson and Judge C. W. Hay, members of the license committee of the Illinois Turf Association, of which Charles W. Bidvill is secretary, met yesterday at the office, 730 Congress Bank building; to pass upon applications of trainers, jockeys and the authorized agents of those owners who will participate this season in racing on Illinois, tracks. It was announced that jockeys Jake Heupel, Willie Pool, Dan Connelly, J. Byan and W. S. Lilly, who were recently denied licenses by the Kentucky State Racing Commission, did not apply for a license to ride in Illinois. The application of C. E. "Boots" Durnell and Fred Hood for trainers licenses, and Charles B. Borel for a jockeys license, were withdrawn and therefore not submitted to the committee. It is understood Durnell will endeavor to adjust his status in Kentucky and New York before seeking a license elsewhere. The impression exists that Durnells difficulties are due to his troubles of long duration with The Jockey Club in New York. No ruling stands against Durnell in that state, it is said, but the elder Pinkerton placed the ban on the western trainer that has never been lifted. The proceedings of the license committee relating to other cases follow: Denied. T. M. Botts, trainer. Andy Anderson,- jockey. Thomas J. Luther jockey. Tabled.
