I NEW YORK TURF NOTES NEW YORK, N. Y., April 23. Frank Loftus has taken over the engagement book of jockey George Ellis, who is under Call to Clarence Buxton. John Groh announced that he would make the outside engagements for jockey M. Knight, who is under contract to. J. E. Wide-ner. Frank Brown worked Starpatica and Mor-dine, before the running of the first race, six furlongs in I:14v5. They stepped along the first half mile in :4S, and were eased up at the finish. W. B. Miller, owner of the Greenwich Stud, was a visitor. Jockey Kelsay, , who w-ent to Havre de Grace to ride .Vander Pool, is due back Thursday. Vander Pool will, be shipped to New York, after his engagement, along with other members of the stable which "Pud" McDaniel, is, training.
