G. J. LONG HORSES IN SALE All on the Old Jefferson County Nursery to Go Under Ham- mer in May. LOUISVILLE, Ky., -April 23. C. W. Mc-Ferran Jr. will auction off the horses of the late breeder and turfman, George J. Long, for his estate, on May 9, which will mark the passing of the oldest thoroughbred nursery in Jeffersoji county. Every horse on the Bashford Manor Farms will go under the hammer, the horses of racing age being Braybant, Messala, Marlow, Bergamot and Busy Thaka, which are over the ages of two, while Jolly Dolle, bay colt by Selim Thaka; Sir Hector, bay colt by Selim Baby Evelyn, and Modosa, bay filly by Beaverkill Chaplet, are the juveniles to be offered buyers. The yearlings embrace a bay filly by imported Swift and Sure, out of Ana,beana; brown filly by imported Swinbourne, out of Doric ; bay colt by Selim, out of Chaplet, and bay or brown colt by Pledge, out of Hazel. Hamet, an eleven-year-old gelding by Raich Ameeras, will be sold with the toilowing brood mares: Duric, Hazel, Anabeana. Thaka, Chaplet, Baby Evelyn and Loretta Brooks. Thaka and Chaplet have suckling foals by Selim at their sides. Ralph, nineteen-year-old son of imported Sempronius Bashford : Belle, by Falsetto, is the stock horse at the Bashford Manor Farms that will be offered at. this sale. . .
