BROAD A., away in the first flight and kept under strong urging, went to the outside when straightened out for the final drive and, in a game finish, wore SEDGIE down near the end. SEDGIE overtook NOISY MISS at the final eighth post, gained command in the last sixteenth, but was not good enough to withstand the winner. NOISY MISS began fast, saved a lot of ground, but tired fast in the closing eighth. AUEV came with a belated rush after a slow start. LAUIIALA was unable to reach contention. THE FIVES closed a big gap. The last four were away so poorly that they had no chance. PADDOCK showed, good speed in the early racing and opened up a winning lead, saved ground, but tired fast in the elosing drive. CHARLEY J. S., slow to get going, was put to severe punishment and closed fast. SHASTA PEBBLE caiiie gamely near the end. BUSINESS offered good early contention. HOGANS ALLEY tired from forcing the pace. ORMONBIltD was unable to improve his position and was best of the otiiers. ARCTURUS set a good pace, raced KINGBIRD into defeat, but tired badly at the end. MICHIGAN BOY, following close to the leaders, was under slight restraint until leaving the back stretch, was released from restraint when entering the stretch, swung to the outside, finished fast and, displacing the leaders inside the final eighth post, came away fast in the last sixtenth. CRAZY COOT ihoved good early speed, saved ground and came again when placed under punishment. SKIRL, a factor throughout, gained a slight lead at the far turn and held on well under punishment. NED O., a slow " starter, was reserved in the early racing and was racing fast on the inside entering the stretch but : was blocked badly when attempting to come through next to the rail.
