WESTIVITY began slowly, ilien moved up on the stretch turn, but tired and was driving hard to outlast DRESS DOLL. HOLIDAY began slowly, but went to the outside entering the stretch and, closing gamely under punishment, was up to win in the final strides.* ENCOUNTER, used up racing UNUSUAL into defeat in the first half mile, tired when put to a drive in the last sixteenth. STURDY closed a big gap and would have been second in a lew more strides. THE TOUT was swering all over the track in the stretch. UNUSUAL began fa*t and showing speed until rounding the far turn, quit. . ANCODA away forwardly and rated behind the leaders until straightened out on the back stretch, moved up on the outside and wore down PHANTASIME and withstood SUN DREAMER. The latter moved up fast in the stretch SNOOTY tired after challenging at the eighth post. MADAM QUEEN swerved to the inside at the start and piled up on several of the others. ALWINGTON DOLLY, buffeted about on the far turn, could not get through at the head of the stretch. SILVER SCEPTER, a factor from the start, took the lead entering the stretch and held on well thereafter. GUILFORD raced STACCATO into early defeat, saved ground and continued well. INTREPID, slow to get going, made up ground. FAIR BILL tired after challenging. MERRY MACK was never dangerous. ELIZABETH tired. STACCATO quit.
