CATHOP moved up fast in the first eighth and, escaping the crowding, saved ground in the stretch and out finished WISE TALK. The latter, probably much the best and forced back when crowded on the first turn, went to the outside near the stretch, worked his way up, but failed to last. UNENCUMBERED began slowly and appeared to cross over on the turn, where he moved up fast and raced evenly thereafter. PREPARE raced into the lead under pressure, was forced over on ATCINES and WISE TALK and weakened in the stretch. LIBERTY LIMITED began slowly, raced green and the effort may improve him. JUSTINA, going in her best form and away fast, drew clear rapidly and, increasing her advantage on the turn, held sway thereafter. TIMON lacked room on the turn, but worked his way to the outside in the stretch and closed gamely. KENTUCKY ACE, also in close quarters on the turn, came through on the inside in the stretch. LAURA NEGLEY closed gamely. YUCATAN moved up fast after reaching the final quarter, then tired. VALDOSTA was cut off on the turn and showed a splendid performance. MISS SUE tired badly. CHERRY MAY showed early speed. WOODLOT quit badly in the stretch. PIROGUE showed good speed, but bore out badly in the stretch. ELLEN D., rated back early, suffered interference when moving up in the stretch and tired. MEMORANDUM lost ground throughout. THISTLE FYRN, racing in her best form and well ridden, was saved off the early pace, but worked her way into the lead and, holding on well, withstood BAR HUNTER. The latter, in close quarters for three-eighths, went to the outside on the turn, then moved up menacingly entering the stretch, but could not get up. KADIAK saved ground for three quarters and closed fast on the outside. BAROMETER raced in close quarters to the stretch. SKIRL tired. THE MONGOL showed early speed. AIRDR1E LASS began fast, was shuffled back on the far turn and j came through on the inside, rlnsinc eround in the stretch. MINCE PIE closed with a rush. SAN PRESTO had speed from the start, raced under restraint the first three quarters, but tired in the final drive. BEST p ACE. well up for the first three quarters, quit under pressure. WILD LAUREL tired. BUSY BETTY, taken i across sharplv, displaved earlv speed.
