DARK SEA, probably much the best and handicapped through lack of room during the first five eighths, • worked his way up when clear and, wearing down the leaders, outstayed STUPENDOUS. The latter, far back the first three-quarters, closed fast. BELLSMITH saved much ground under a good ride, moved up on the inside in the stretch, but tired in the closing stages. JEFF ONEIL, taken to the lead, had speed and jj only cave way in the final eighth. WORKLESS began slowly. EARL OF WARWICK raced wide throughout t and showed a fine effort. GOTOIT, up close under restraint the first three-quarters, weakened when called on. , BURLAP had early speed.
