The latter moved up gamely on the outside of the leader in the stretch, but tired at the end. TROMBONE showed early speed, saved ground and had no mishaps. CRENALAN was outrun COMSTOCKERY wheeled at the start and jumped green. SPELLBOUND lost ground at the jumps and lost his rider at the fifteenth obstacle.
