KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 15.— Heading West, bound for Reno, the "William P. Kyne Special" left here Saturday night. The special comprises twenty cars, and the run to Reno will be made in thirty-five hours or less — a new record for speed. The shipment contains about 600 head of horses, included among which are the best that campaigned at Riverside Park. It is one of the largest single shipments ever made. The Reno meeting opens July 1 for twenty-eight days or more, under the direction of William P. Kyne. The Reno meeting is shaping up as the best ever to be held in Nevada. Many high class racers are now on the grounds, and Kyne has been deluged with stable reserva- tions. In addition to flat racing there will be hurdles. The jumping races will bring the best steeplechasers of the West into action. A number of horses will come out from Chicago, and the Reno session promises to break all records for Nevada racing.
