COUNT BRUNO, hustled into the lead, shook off FOGGY DEW entering the stretch and was under restraint in the final eighth. FOGGY DEW showed early speed, was shaken up when straightened out in. the stretch, but was held safe. STAR DIADEM began fast, but was outrun in the first eighth, responded to punishment and was easily best of the others. CHASTE MORN raced well for a half and tired. CHATHAM QUEEN showed early speed. WIG. hustled into a forward position, tame with a rush approaching the stretch and, wearing down DARK ANGEL, drew out in the last eighth. DARK ANGEL raced LEW BLACK into early defeat, but was no match for the winner in the final drive. ACHTOI LASS, badly outrun early, finished resolutely on the outside. GOLDEN PATCH closed with belated speed. MY BETTY was unable to menace the leaders. TICKLETOES lost ground throughout.
