SOLILOQUY sprinted into a commanding lead shortly after the start, saved ground and continued gamely to withstand FITZGOLD. The latter, closest to the winner throughout, was gradually wearing down the winner. ROSEMAN was unable to menace the first two in the stretch. ERIN CHIEF raced well. EASTER DANDY raced on his own courage. STAR DIADEM swerved out directly after the start and dropped far out of it. WACKET, quick to settle into his best stride, stalled off contention from DANCING MACK for five-eighths and, shaken up at the final eighth post, drew out steadily under urging. DANCING MACK, hard ridden for five-eighths, tired thereafter. AIRWAY, forwardly placed, closed fast. TIMON beg.m fast, but lacked early speed, then raced wide when moving up in the last half mile. STAYLOR tired after going half a mile. BEAU WRACK met interference leaving the back stretch. MEDWAY was in close quarters approaching the turn, stumbled and unseated his rider. DARK ABBOT, showing the most speed, took command going to the first turn, was restrained until leaving the back stretch, shook off JUSTICIARY, swerved out at the last eighth post, bothering FAIR BILL, was put to a strong drive thereafter and just lasted. FAIR BILL, saved for three-quarters, moved up fast when called upon and was wearing down the winner. TRAUMAGNE, forced wide and bumped at the first turn, came through on the inside entering the stretch. XYLOPHONE tired. JUSTICIARY quit.
