DUPEE GETS STEWARDS POST Takes Place of Jack Campbell in Stand at Agua Caliente Popular Sportsman. AGUA CALIENTE, Mexico, Jan. 5. Walter H. Dupee, well known and prominent California sportsman, will take up his duties as associate steward today at this course, filling the vacancy left by the resignation of judge Jack B. Campbell. Following a conference with officers of the Agua Caliente Jockey Club, Mr. Dupee consented to accept the position offered to him when judge Campbell tendered his resignation on December 31, 1931. The name of Walter Dupee has long been connected with the turf and in other sporting activities and the news that this post will be held by him will be received with great enthusiasm in racing circles. Dupee, in his younger days, gained fame as a polo player. He has bred any number of polo ponies and at the present time i-aces a small string at Agua Caliente, consisting of Taches, winner of the Futurity last summer; Peterkin, another who has graced the winners circle, and Marechal. George J. Miller, the ex-jockey, who recently was released from the Scripps Memorial Hospital, is training the Dupee color bearers.
