SPLENDID SATURDAY PROGRAM Tropical Parks Racing" Secretary-Schedules Two Features for Half-Holiday of Sport. MIAMI, Fla., Jan. 7. Secretary H. D. Monroe is building up an excellent Saturday card for the racing at Tropical Park, the last Saturday of the current meeting for the surrender of conflicting dates with Hialeah brings the Gables, Racing Association season to a close with the sport of next Wednesday. The features of the holiday card are the Tropical Park Handicap, at five and a half furlongs, and the Presidents Handicap, a contest of one mile and a sixteenth. The nominations for these specials closed yesterday, and in each excellent entries were obtained. The best of the sprinters are engaged for the sprint and the mile and a sixteenth race promises an excellent field. It is unfortunate that Frank Grossmans Waterway pulled up a bit lame, and will not be raced in the Presidents Handicap, for which he was intended. On his excellent race behind Arras Wednesday, he seemed particularly eligible for this Saturday feature, but there are others that are of promise. Lady Broadcast is among the nominees and the manner in which she has been training at Hialeah promises a good race. Arras will doubtless be in the field, and it is expected that Martis, Rip Van Winkle and Calf Roper will be brought together again.
