FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES f Trainer N. K. Beal plans to dispose of about eight of the horses he has at the Fair Grounds for Joseph Leiter, to make room for eight two-year-olds and the three-year-olds Princess Ivre and Princess A. A., soon to be shipped here from K. N. Gilpins farm at Boyce, "Va. Upon arrival here the horses, wintered at the Gilpin farm will go into training. A number of useful horses are among those slated to be "weeded out" of the stable. J. W. Young of Galveston, Texas, is a visitor and the guest of Edward OConnell. Dr. Charles McCarthy of Lexington, and owner of the filly Miss Unruly here in charge of Jack McPherson, is expected down for several weeks of the Fair Grounds meeting. W. C. Clancy has decided to dispose of Tommy Lad, an excellent hunter prospect, and the veteran Ceylon Prince. Apprentice Harold Tinker, who had the mount on Beaver, which was disqualified for fouling after winning the last race at the Fair Grounds Wednesday, was suspended for. a period of ten days. Playtime, the Southland Stables candidate for the ,000 added Mardi Gras Handicap, to be renewed at one mile aand a sixteenth at the Fair Grounds Tuesday, breezed a mile over a fast track at that course Thursday in 1:45 in preparation for the holiday race. Spanish Play and Glastonbury, also pointing for the same fixture, breezed a half mile in :53 and .54, respectively. Eligibles for the ,000 added Rex Handicap, the Saturday feature for three-year-olds and to be decided over three-quarters, seen in useful trials Thursday, included Merry Fox, three-quarters in 1:16, handily, and. Volta Maid, five-eighths in 1:07, breezing.
