" BUOYANT DAYS moved up rapidly under restraint after the first quarter, followed the leader closely until entering the stretch, where he took command and won with speed to spare. BAAL, slow to start, gradually improved his position on the outside and outlasted MANASSAS. The latter, under pressure all the. way, held on resolutely in the stretch. FAIR BLANCHE, prominent in the early stages, tired after going three-quarters as if short. SINGLE KAY had no mishaps. MAKE SPEED set a fast pace for three-quarters, then quit badly. LAST BID began forwardly from outside the machine, finished resolutely under punishment and outlasted BLUE DUSK. The latter raced green in the first eighth and closed well on the outside through the stretch TUSSLE was in close quarters at the end. The latter moved up fast on the turn and, racing SOBIEHA into defeat, took command entering the stretch, but could not withstand the challenge of the winner in the last eighth. BROOKSIE improved her position steadily after entering the stretch and was going fastest of all at the end. SOBIEHA began fast and showed good speed under restraint, then quit badly when put to a drive. JAFFA, away poorly, closed a big gap. Overweight Jaffa, 1 pound. KINCSEN, showing more speed than usual in the early stages, followed the leaders under restraint on the outside to the stretch turn, where she went to the leaders with a rush and, continuing gamely, outlasted IJLUNIU. The iatter, well handled and under light restraint to the final quarter, responded gamely when called upon, but was not equal to the winner. GAY BIRD, close to DANCING MACK, held on well in the stretch and disposed of him. The latter showed good speed, then tired in the stretch.
