I FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES : Carl Meyer, injured slightly while filling an engagement Saturday, will resume riding Wednesday. S. "Chief" Johnson, former riderr acquired the three-year-old filly Chatterrene and will train her for racing under his colors. Johnson, an Indian, is known wherever racing Is-conducted and is one of the most colorful figures on the turf. In the future owners and trainers and authorized agents will be required to file scratch cards and only those presented by such qualified persons will be accepted by William Doyle and George Swain at the Fair Grounds and Jefferson Park, respectively. According to word received by Joseph McLennan, the Maryland Racing Commission has approved the stakes to be run during the coming thirteen-day spring meeting, opening at Havre de Grace on April 16. The list of features is much the same as in recent years, Mr. McLennan stated.
