JEFFERSON PARK MEETING Total of 58,993 Distributed During Fifty-Two Days of Racing, i E. Haughton Leading Owner and Trainer Lucky Tom Tops Money-Winning Horses Biding Honors to G. Elston. The Jefferson Park meeting came to a close with the Charity Days racing Sunday, January 24. In all there were fifty-two days of the sport and 365 races run. The total distribution amounted to 58,993, an average of ,980. Edward Haughton, who formerly trained for the Greentree Stable, is racing his own string and was the most successful of the owners participating at the Jefferson Park meeting, winning fifteen races and 2,235. J. J. Robinson, owner of Lucky Tom, Jefferson Derby winner, is second on the owners winning list with ,605 to his credit. Knebelkamp and Morris, C. V. Whitney, A. P. Canale, Lone Star Stable and J. Marsch were among others who figured prominently in the racing. Lucky Tom, with two victories, including the Derby, was the largest winner among the horses. E. Haughton carried off the training honors with fifteen winners and G. Elston was the leader of the jockeys with fifty-one winners out of 187 mounts, for the high percentage of .27.
