LEADING- AMERICAN JOCKEYS Gilbert Elston is now the leader of the American jockeys. Duplicating his feat of the previous week, he again piloted nine winners and boasts a total of thirty-nine. However, the weeks honors go to J. Gilbert, who scored with eleven of his mounts and took second place to Elston. S. Coucci, the former leader, was idle during a great portion of the week and when he did become active failed to ride winners. The records of the thirty leading American jockeys, from January 1 up to and including the racing of last Sunday, are as follows: Jockey. Mts. 1st. 2nd. 3rd. Unp. P.C.L.W.
