MEETINGS DEPEND UPON ! DAILY TAX REDUCTION 1 MIAMI, Fla., Feb. 10. Thomas B. Cromwell was an arrival of the day from Kentucky. He reported that before he left his state there seemed to be every prospect that a new racing commission would be appointed, composed of Polk Laffoon, Rodman Meacham, James P. Edwards, T. P. Hayes and G. B. Senff. This is a commission that has the endorsement of both the breeders and the horsemen of the state and it is expected the appointments will be announced. At the present time there is also an effort being made to reduce the daily tax on both Lexington and Dade Park to 00 daily, in an effort to bring about more prosperous times for racing. The major courses would continue to pay a daily tax of ,500, but it has been quite conclusively proven that there must be a considerable reduction for both Dade Park and Lexington to have them continue.
