SYM JACK showed speed and suffered interference when tiring. EISENBERG was forced to lose much ground and showed a good performance. SUNNY SIDEUP and OTTIE M. began very slowly. PENN, far out of it for half a mile, closed a gap on the last turn and, holding on well in the drive, outlasted LOYAL LOUIE. The latter held on stubbornly after giving way to the winner. BEAVER, a factor throughout, saved much ground. FILL IN was in close quarters on the first turn. VILLAGE VAMP began slowly and, blocked on the first turn, appeared to loaf thereafter. SANDWRACK, under vigorous riding from the start, was much used in the early stages, tired in the final drive, but outlasted SIMPLE SJNGER. The latter forced the early pace under light restraint, held a short lead briefly on the stretch turn and quit badly. LOUIS MERRYMAN,, a factor throughout, had no mishaps.
