2 BAINBRIDGE PARK MEETING Thirty-One Days of Racing to Be Staged at Cleveland Course Beginning May 21. NEW ORLEANS, La., Feb. 11. The regular annual spring meeting of the Bain-bridge Breeders and Racing Association, which operates the Bainbridge Park course at Geauga Lake, Ohio, will open Saturday, May 21, and run for a period of thirty-one days, concluding with the racing of, June 25, according to the plans of Thomas Mc-Ginty, general manager, as conveyed to Joseph Cattarinich and R. S. Eddy, Jr., stockholders here today. The meeting will be carried out along the same pretentious lines as in former years, with a big program of stakes and handicaps, the same liberal purse offerings and will be first class in every respect. Unless a special race or sweepstakes is added to the program, the Ohio Derby, which has developed into a very coveted, rich and popular feature for three-year-olds, will be the richest and principal race of the meeting. As in 1931, the coming renewal will carry 2,000 in added money, and while the date of running has not been definitely decided upon, it will be reserved for the latter part of the meeting, and will not conflict with the American Derby, to be run at Washington Park, June 18. "If sufficient material and interest develops for anything in the nature of a special race or racing feature of any kind, not on the program, the Bainbridge Park management will make every effort to bring such attractions to its near-Cleveland course," said Mr. Cattarinich. Inquiry today indicated that a number of the better grade stables here will be shipped direct to Bainbridge Park following the close of the Fair Grounds season. Last year a number of eastern stables participated in the Bainbridge racing, and a larger number is expected to do so this season.
