BAHAMA ISLANDS GOVERNOR Captain Bede E. H. Clifford and Party Guests of J. E. Widener at Hialeah Park. MIAMI, Fla. Feb. 17. His excellency, Captain Bede E. H. Clifford, governor of the Bahama Islands, and party, were guests of Joseph E. Widener at the Miami Jockey Clubs Hialeah Park. Traditionally lovers of the thoroughbred, the distinguished Britishers exhibited a lively interest in the sparkling program of racing and were enthusiastic in their admiration of Americas most perfectly appointed course. "Mr. Widener has created a masterpiece of beauty and efficiency at Hialeah Park," said Governor Clifford. "Florida and the American turf should be proud of his achieve ment." The British party and the committee of hosts and hostesses were the guests of Mr. Widener at a luncheon on the club house balcony. Included in the visiting party were the Governor, the honorable Mrs. Bede Clifford, Lieut.-Commander, E. Edmonston, R. N., Hon. E. Blondell, Mr. and Mrs. Yonge, of the Panama airways. Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. P. A. B. Widener, Major Barclay Warburton, Mr. and Mrs. Hollums, Frank Shutts, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Fred A. Poor, Major Thomas Bouch, acting mayor of Miami, H. E. Piatt and Mrs. Piatt, Ernest Feilers and Mrs. Reeder.
