PLUTARCH, away forwardly, moved up fast on the outside of the leaders oh the back stretch and opened up a commanding lead on the stretch turn, but tired and was hard urged through the. stretch to maintain his advantage. BANKER SAM, on the inside throughout, was repeatedly crowded back, closed gamely when clear and was wearing the winner down. MOROCCO, away slowly and shuffled back repeatedly when he tried to come through on the inside, finished with a belated rush. CRUSHED STONE, prominent in the early stages, tired in the last eighth. JOHN DAVENPORT, away poorly, came through on the outside, responded gamely under vigorous riding, steadily improved his position and wore down BLARNEY CASTLE in "the final strides. BLARNEY CASTLE, away fast, showed early speed and drew out early,; then tired in the final sixteenth and was unable to withstand the challenge of the winner. REVONAH, prominent throughout, came through between the leaders in the final eighth and finished gamely. ST. CHRISTOPHER, WOCO and LIGHT ACTION were forced to pull up shortly after passing the eighth post when NORMAN swerved in front of them. Won easily; second and third driving. HAMILTON, a factor, forced a steady- early pace and, taking command in the stretch, tried to bear out, but quickly straightened out and drew away at the end. CLEAN PLAY showed speed and . saved ground all the way. TEA CRACKER came through on the inside and finished well under urging, but ran on the heels of CLEAN PLAY in the stretch. BOBS PLAY finished resolutely on his own courage. BLACK FEATHER was eased up when he tired. BRAGGADOCIO was not persevered with. MY PURCHASE, close to the early leaders, was pinched back on the turn, moved up gamely between the leaders entering the stretch and, taking command, continued gamely in the final drive. JAMBALAYA, hard ridden throughout, finished gamely and was gaining steadily in the closing strides. BUOYANT DAYS, taken up at the start on the turn, finished fast and was probably best. SONG HIT, prominent all-the. way, tired in the drive. COMMON showed early speed, but tired after half a mile. SOBIEHA was never a factor. DANCING MACK swerved when tiring in the stretch. JOHN F., on the outside early, was taken to the rail entering the stretch, but could not get through. RACCOON quit. STARBOARD LIGHT improved his position on the outside in the final half mile and Finished resolutely. FAIR BILL gained fast in the closing quarter and easily disposed of the others.
